Happy FriYAY! It’s a beautiful day in the Cariboo! What fun weekend plans do you have? Hopefully it involves taking in the Prospector’s Steak Out Show and Shine on Sunday in downtown Quesnel!

Also, in case you’re needing portable signage that is easy to swap out for new events (or corny jokes), we always have plenty of a-frame sandwich board options and sizes in both metal and plastic, with removable inserts.

August makes us a little sentimental, as this wonderful business of ours celebrates its anniversary! Sign Stop was established in 1974 and has been serving Quesnel for 52 years now! The last while I (Comfort) have been exploring the idea of BHAGs - Big Hairy Audacious Goals, coined in the book “Built to Last”. Goals that are so big, so audacious, that they feel risky, wild and a little unreasonable in the beginning. Goals that would make you pause and gulp - kind of like you would looking upon a monster.
Buying Sign Stop was a big, hairy, audacious goal for us just a few years ago. Being small business owners was our dream. We don’t come from money, and we didn’t have an inheritance, investors or a hefty bank account to draw from. But we had courage, creativity and tenacity!
We (especially Jason!) worked hard to make the acquisition happen and we continue to work hard every day alongside our team to build Sign Stop into something that will last for generations to come! For 52 years Quesnel has supported this wonderful business and because of that we are able to continue supporting the community in return through sponsorships and support everywhere we can. We are so very grateful for that, and truly do not take that privilege for granted.
So, what is it you dream of? If you knew you were guaranteed to hit your big, crazy, wild and hairy goals - what would you have the audacity to plan for?
I made two versions of a sticker to remind myself, and you - to have Big Thinking, Audacious Goals and Fierce Courage to chase them! I shared them last week with the wonderful women at Come to the Table, but we have extras at the shop. We would love if you want to pop in, take your favourite (for free of course!), and put it somewhere to remind yourself that you have what it takes, so don’t limit your goals - make them big, hairy and audacious!
