September is almost a wrap.
Crazy month, busiest we've ever been, with the bags and everything included.
Got some major repairs coming up on our trailer soon, but our scheduling mastermind (Lynette) has everyone getting their wood on time.

After some formalities today, our variance proposal will be behind us, and we will continue to do what we do best, provide the best quality firewood in the Columbia Valley.

It's been a learning curve for sure, we are privileged to have some really good people who understand what the long game is all about.
There's a long list of names and businesses that we are thankful for.

We look after those who look after us.

6 years of firewooding and we had our first "cold day" today.
It reaches a point where it's hard on guys, equipment, and it's not economical to bust s**t, (like we did this morning), have production drop, and have to pay when it warms up.
We ll contact everyone on the hauling schedule tonight and figure out who is priority, and who can wait a day or two.

Firewood is a challenge on a good day, at almost-30, we have to draw a line somewhere.

You meet all types of people in the firewood gig.
From rolls royce to kia, and everyone in between. Tonight we pull in to a residence, the idea is to unload and go, time is money.
The young couple(?) could use a hand, most young people can. I tell them take one third off the total, it's been a good winter for us.
The young girl hands me cash from a zip lock bag, and I look, and she's overpaid. By alot.
I say no, take this back handing her some loot, she says no that's for you
I convince her a rate is a rate, I don't need a generous tip, (she does) and I give her back the extra and haul ass home.
In a time of covid and war, there's a kid being too generous for firewood.

First vehicle on the lake winter 21/22, the ice was cracking, and we hauled ass off the ice with the box up.
I've been happy, angry, tired hungry lots of times hauling wood, but this was the only time I was scared.
We hit the beach at windermere, got out, and our tire tracks were full of water.

Got it delivered though. $$$
