On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our team had the opportunity to learn more about Inuit history and traditions through the lighting of a qulliq and the sharing of regional artifacts by representatives from Nunavut Parks. Students from Maani Ulujuk Ilinniarvik recently joined us at site to learn about our operation, explore different departments, and connect with members of our team. Students heard from employees working in a variety of roles, including team members from Rankin Inlet and across the Kivalliq Region. By providing opportunities to see the operation firsthand and connect with our team, we hope to inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and help students gain a deeper understanding of the mining industry.

Agnico Eagle is seeking an Inuit artist to collaborate on a unique artwork project supporting our renewed Reconciliation Action Plan.

The selected artist will work alongside Caley Leroux (Wâwâškešiw Kwe), a Cree artist from Taykwa Tagamou Nation whose artwork helped shape the visual identity of our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan. Together, they will create companion symbols reflecting Inuit perspectives on themes such as leadership, education, employment, community, economic engagement, the environment, and wellness.

We are looking for an artist who can:
• Create seven Inuit-inspired symbols, one for each theme
• Share a short statement about the meaning behind each piece
• Work collaboratively throughout the process

It was another great day at the recent Meliadine Community Tour!
