💡 Tim’s Tip: Don’t forget about your air exchanger filter!

Many homeowners remember to change their furnace filter but forget that their air exchanger filter also needs regular cleaning. A furnace filter cleans the air circulating through your heating system, while an air exchanger filter cleans the fresh air coming into your home from outside - you can find it located inside the air exchanger (HRV/ERV) unit, which is typically mounted near the furnace in your mechanical room or basement ceiling area.

Every 3–6 months, remove the filter and wash it with warm water and mild soap, then hang it to dry before reinstalling. Always check your product manual for specific instructions for your unit. Small maintenance steps like this can make a big difference in your home’s air quality.

A clean filter helps your air exchanger work properly and keeps fresh air circulating through your home!
