🚨 ACHIEVEMENT & COMMITMENT ALERT 🚨

We are proud to congratulate Jonathan Morin on receiving the Mount Academy Governor General Award, the Contribution to School Life Award, and the U18 Athletic Award. These are outstanding achievements that speak to his dedication, leadership, and impact both on and off the ice, and we couldn’t be more proud of Johnny for this recognition.

Johnny has also committed to play junior hockey next season with the Worcester Junior Railers in the United States. The smooth-skating, two-way defenseman will bring his compete level, drive, and determination to the Worcester program. He is a mobile defender who provides a strong first pass, excellent edges, and the ability to contribute secondary offense when needed. His consistency, work ethic, and competitiveness make him a strong addition to any lineup.

We’re excited for Johnny’s next chapter and looking forward to what’s ahead in Worcester and beyond.

🚨 COMMITMENT ALERT 🚨

We are proud to congratulate Lucas Beaudoin on his commitment to the Smiths Falls Bears!

Lucas is a tall, lanky defenseman who plays a strong two-way game. He has the ability to contribute offensively when needed while also taking on tough defensive assignments against top opponents. An exceptional skater with great mobility for his size, Lucas possesses a strong first pass, excellent stick-on-puck skills, and the ability to move the puck efficiently in all areas of the ice.

Lucas is a great example of trusting the process. After spending two seasons in the VIJHL, he committed to his development, trusted his coaches, and stayed patient with the process. That dedication has paid off, earning him an opportunity closer to home with the Smiths Falls Bears, a program known for its strong player development.

Congratulations, Lucas!

Congratulations to Jessy Cormier on his commitment to the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Hockey League

Jessy is a big, competitive goaltender who gives his team a chance to win every night. After a strong U18 season in which he consistently ranked among the league’s top goaltenders, he has earned this opportunity to play his Junior A hockey in Miramichi.

We’re excited to see Jessy join an outstanding organization in the Miramichi Timberwolves. Their commitment to player development, a strong culture, and helping athletes grow both on and off the ice makes them a great fit for Jessy. We know he is in excellent hands as he takes this next step in his hockey journey.

This commitment is a testament to Jessy’s hard work, dedication, and perseverance. While this is an important milestone, the work is far from over. We have big goals ahead, and we’ll continue to trust the process, take it one day at a time, and keep pushing forward.

🏒 THE DRAFT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

With another draft now complete, some families are celebrating while others are disappointed. Some players were selected, some fell further than expected, and some didn’t hear their name called at all.

But the reality is simple:

The draft is an opportunity, not a destination.

Whether you were drafted or not, your development journey is far from over.

One thing our game needs to improve is how quickly we label young athletes.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with him. He probably has ADHD or OCD. I don’t want to deal with him.”

“He doesn’t have any hockey IQ. He just doesn’t see the game.”

“He’s way too soft in the corners.”

“He stickhandles himself into trouble every shift. I don’t know what to tell him anymore.”

Those shouldn’t be reasons to give up on a player. Those are opportunities to coach.

Every athlete learns differently. Some need more structure. Some need more repetition. Some need accountability. Some need a better understanding of the ‘why.’

If a player struggles to read the game, teach him. If a player avoids contact, teach him. If a player keeps making the same mistake, teach him.

Too often we expect young athletes to know things they’ve never been taught.

And for those who judge players strictly by points, remember this: scouts don’t just evaluate production. They evaluate how a player creates offense, competes, plays within a structure, communicates, and makes the players around him better.

The game has always been bigger than points.

There is no reason a player should be making the exact same mistakes in March that he was making in September. Growth comes from communication, accountability, and honest conversations.

Those conversations aren’t always easy, but they are necessary.

Let’s stop labeling young athletes and start developing them.

That’s how we build better players, better teams, and ultimately grow the game. 💪🏒

🚨 COMMITMENT ALERT 🚨

We are proud to announce that has committed to the 100 Mile House Wranglers of the WIJHL for the 2026-27 season!

🚨 COMMITMENT ALERT 🚨

We are proud to announce that has committed to the Smiths Falls Bears of the CCHL for the upcoming season!

The CCHL is widely recognized as one of the top development leagues in the CJHL and has become a proven pathway for players advancing to U SPORTS, NCAA programs, and Major Junior hockey. Year after year, the league develops players both on and off the ice, making it an outstanding next step in Simon’s hockey journey.

Simon was originally drafted by the West Kent Steamers and was later traded to the Grand Falls Rapids. Throughout the process, Simon and his family remained focused on finding the best opportunity for his development and long-term success. After exploring all options, Smiths Falls stood out as a program that truly believed in him and provided a great environment for him to continue growing as both a player and a person.

Simon is a dynamic player who brings pace, skill, and intelligence to every shift. He has the ability to make those around him better and possesses the leadership qualities that every coach looks for. His character, work ethic, and commitment to improvement have been major factors in helping him reach this milestone, and we believe those same qualities will help him thrive at the junior level and beyond.

We are incredibly excited to watch Simon begin this next chapter with the Smiths Falls Bears. We have no doubt he will make a positive impact on the organization and continue opening doors for himself at higher levels of the game.

Congratulations, Simon!
