Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association

Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association We are the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association (SHCA). If something big is happening, that's where you'll find our members working.

If the earth moved, it was us. Our members are from all across Saskatchewan, and we represent companies large and small. Our members are working on job sites everywhere in our province and sometimes beyond. The SHCA is a member-driven organization with a Board of Directors drawn from the membership, and a President and staff who work with the Board to provide the best representation, advocacy, and services to all members.

Construction is now underway in Saskatchewan so please be careful, slow down and pay attention in our work zones.

🚧 Did you know? Sealcoating helps extend road life by up to 10 years!
When sealcoating, crews apply a mixture of hot asphalt and gravel to existing roads to create a protective layer that seals small cracks and protects against weather and wear. It’s a preventative measure and quick too — usually only taking about 24 hours to cure. ⏳

Please remember to slow down, pay attention and respect the work zone.

🚧 Don’t see any workers? That doesn’t mean there aren’t hazards!

Even when crews aren’t visible, work zones can still pose risks like broken pavement, sharp drop-offs, loose gravel, uneven lanes and shifting surfaces. ⚠️
Conditions can change quickly and catch drivers off guard.

Slow down, stay alert & stay safe—for you and our crews.

Great news for the city!!

Big news for Yorkton Regional Airport! ✈️

The Government of Saskatchewan has announced $137,994 in funding through the Community Airport Partnership Program to support new PAPI lights at Yorkton Regional Airport.

PAPI lights help guide pilots safely onto the runway, supporting safer and more reliable landings.

These upgrades will help keep Yorkton Regional Airport safe, reliable and ready to serve the region. The airport supports business, agriculture, emergency response, medical transfers, aviation services and regional connectivity across our region.

Thank you to the Government of Saskatchewan for supporting this important safety upgrade and recognizing the role community airports play in connecting communities, supporting essential services and strengthening regional infrastructure.
