Your team becomes so much more than just people you work with. They become the people you lean on during the hard days, the people who celebrate the wins with you, the people who understand the vision, and the people helping bring it all to life beside you.

At 2nd Home For All, relationships are everything. The connections we build with the kids, families, and each other are the heart behind all of this. I never wanted this to feel like “just a job.” I wanted to create a team of people who genuinely care, show up for one another, and are passionate about making a difference in the community.

Pouring into our team matters because the people behind this work are the reason 2nd Home is what it is. When a team feels supported, valued, trusted, and connected, it changes the quality of care we are able to provide and the kind of community we create together. 💗

Meet Ella! 💗

Ella has been on the team for a few months now and brings so much value. She consistently shows up ready to do the hard work, and her passion and dedication have made her an important part of this team. This summer, Ella will be working alongside MacKenzie as a camp director and is taking on a lot of behind-the-scenes work. I am really grateful our paths crossed and that you’re part of this team. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future!

What do you do for work, and what is your educational background? 📚
I am currently working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education. Alongside my studies, I work as a Direct Support Worker elsewhere and at 2nd Home!

How long have you been in the field and what do you specialize in? 🦋
I have been working in the field for over two years. During this time, I have gained hands-on experience providing individualized care, building strong relationships, and creating supportive, engaging environments that meet each person’s unique needs. My focus is on empowering people to be independent, supporting their growth, and creating a space where everyone feels valued and included. In addition to my professional experience, I grew up in a family deeply connected to this field, so supporting individuals with diverse and unique needs has always been a natural and important part of my life.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the 2nd Home team? 🧡
I love the welcoming and supportive environment that 2nd Home has created for the kids. It’s truly a safe space where they can be themselves without pressure or expectations. I love being part of a team that prioritizes comfort, acceptance, and genuine care, and it’s so rewarding to see the kids feel happy, valued, and accepted.

What do you like to do for fun? 🐶
I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I also love being with my dog - whether it’s going for walks, getting outside, or just relaxing together!

I am left handed

Hi everyone! 🤍

I wanted to take a moment to celebrate 1 year of 2nd Home For All 🥹🫶🏼

Around this time last year, I started posting about 2nd Home and putting my name out there, not really knowing where it would lead. In March I began providing care for someone in our community. From there, I continued to show up, one day at a time. Over the year, our clientele grew, and I was able to bring on an incredible team to help support kids, adults, and families in the community.

After supporting 20+ people, running a summer camp, moving twice, and participating in the Bump, Baby Expo, I’m so proud to say, we did it. None of this would have been possible without my team, support system, and the families who put their trust in me. That trust means everything, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without you.❤️

This past year, a huge amount of my time and energy went into building 2nd Home For All, while also working and being in nursing school. It definitely hasn’t been easy. What made it all possible was my deep love for this work and my commitment to doing it well. Of course, we are still growing and navigating hiccups as they come, and I’m so grateful for the patience, understanding, and support as we continue to learn and evolve together.

2nd Home was created because I saw a gap. Families needed support that felt safe, consistent, and human. They needed people who would take the time to build real relationships, honour individuality, and meet people where they are, not where a system or society expects them to be. My goal has always been to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for, and where families feel supported, understood, and not alone.

As we move forward, our goal remains the same: to serve our community with quality, intentional care, while growing slowly and thoughtfully in a way that protects that standard. The why behind this work matters, and ensuring the care we provide continues to feel like home is so important to us.
