At approximately 1:40 p.m. today, Richer Fire Department was dispatched to a large grass fire on 42E, north of Highway 1.

Crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire, bringing the situation under control.

Great work by our crew, and a big thank you to the landowners who jumped in to help. Your assistance was greatly appreciated!

On September 27 at approximately 3:58 p.m., Richer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of PR 302 and 40N for a single-vehicle collision.

The vehicle lost control, entered the ditch and rolled.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

We’re grateful everyone was able to walk away from this incident. A friendly reminder to look out for yourself, your passengers, and everyone else sharing our roads. Please buckle up, drive sober, make sure you’re licensed to be behind the wheel, and make safe choices before heading out.

And please when you see emergency vehicles and responders working along the roadway, please slow down and give them plenty of space. Our members are often working only a few feet away from passing traffic, and slowing down helps keep everyone safe.

We all have people waiting for us at home. Let’s do our part to make sure everyone gets there safely. ❤️

Five members of the Richer Fire Department joined firefighters from the Taché Fire Department and Ritchot Fire Department for a weekend of learning, hands-on training, and participation in a School Bus Rescue Course.

This valuable training gave our firefighters the opportunity to build skills and work together on the challenges involved in responding to school bus incidents.

We’re proud of our members for continuing to train, learn, and strengthen our ability to serve and protect our communities.

Thank you to our knowledgeable course instructors and everyone who took part and helped make it a great weekend of learning and teamwork!

🚨🚨 We are pleased to announce the purchase of a new set of extrication tools (Jaws of Life) for the Richer Fire Department, thanks to funding support through the Manitoba GRO (Growth, Renewal and Opportunities for Municipalities) Grant. The Province of Manitoba contributed 50% of the project cost, helping us strengthen our emergency response capabilities and better serve our community. Thank you to the Province of Manitoba for investing in local public safety!

Also thanks to Jamie Marshall and Don McDougall from ABC Fire & Safety Equipment Limited for their service in getting the tools, delivering the new tools, going over them with our crew and for answering any questions we had!

These tools will be a great upgrade to our arsenal of emergency tools that help us serve our community

Richer Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1 east of Road 42E this evening.

Firefighters arrived to find a truck in the middle of the highway with no one at the scene.

We remind motorists to drive safely and report any dangerous or impaired driving behaviour immediately by calling 911.

🚒 Richer Fire Department Incident Response 🚒

On June 4 at 10:59 AM, the Richer Fire Department responded to a report of a lawn mower on fire at a property along Highway 1, just west of Richer.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby vegetation and surrounding areas.

As temperatures rise and outdoor work increases, please remember to regularly inspect and maintain lawn mowers and other equipment. Remove dry grass buildup, check fuel lines for leaks, and keep a fire extinguisher readily available when operating machinery.

Thank you to all responding members for their quick action and dedication to keeping our community safe.

Richer Fire Department responded to a dump trailer tire fire on Highway 1, just east of Road 50E in the eastbound lane.

Richer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle versus deer collision at PR 302 by Road 39N.
