๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ We are pleased to announce the purchase of a new set of extrication tools (Jaws of Life) for the Richer Fire Department, thanks to funding support through the Manitoba GRO (Growth, Renewal and Opportunities for Municipalities) Grant. The Province of Manitoba contributed 50% of the project cost, helping us strengthen our emergency response capabilities and better serve our community. Thank you to the Province of Manitoba for investing in local public safety!

Also thanks to Jamie Marshall and Don McDougall from ABC Fire & Safety Equipment Limited for their service in getting the tools, delivering the new tools, going over them with our crew and for answering any questions we had!

These tools will be a great upgrade to our arsenal of emergency tools that help us serve our community

Last night at 6:48 PM, crews from the Richer Fire Department responded to a grass fire between Road 42 and 43 in Richer, Manitoba. Due to the size and conditions of the fire, assistance was requested from the Ste. Anne and Giroux Fire Departments to help with manpower and containment efforts. Firefighters remained on scene working tirelessly until after 4:00 AM to bring the situation under control.

We would like to thank community members that assisted us and all responding departments and crews for their teamwork, dedication, and long hours protecting our community. Please continue to use caution with open flames and be mindful of dry conditions and the level 3 fire ban that went into place today.
