Small roofline gaps can turn into serious wildlife entry points.

In this Icon Pest project, our technicians worked around the home using 32 ft ladders to secure multiple roofline and soffit access points. The front and back RSI areas were excluded with steel mesh, a loose soffit section was touched up, and one active corner opening was prepared for a one-way door.

This is proper wildlife exclusion. Not just covering a hole, but inspecting the full roofline, securing weak points, and giving the animal a safe way out before the entry point is sealed.

Steel mesh helps protect vulnerable areas from raccoons, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife that can damage soffits, fascia, vents, and attic edges. A one-way door allows the animal to exit but prevents it from re-entering the home.

For this Icon Pest project, our technician dug a trench along the back and sides of the structure so steel mesh could be installed below ground level. This creates a dig-proof barrier that helps stop animals from getting back underneath after removal.

A one-way door is placed at the active access point so the animal can exit safely. Then the surrounding area is protected with mesh, folded connections, and backfill so the exclusion works as one secure system.

In one corner, a large root acted as a natural barrier, so the mesh was installed around the areas where digging was still possible. That kind of detail matters because every property has different soil, roots, gaps, and access points.
