There’s a difference between someone who visits and someone who anchors.
MJ is an anchor.
We met in fall 2023 and he was one of the first people who actually wanted to understand the vision behind Nook. Back then I was still nervous to share it. He really listened and said “I’m gonna come by”. We were still soft launching. Soon after, he signed up as member #3!!
He became our first event partner and launched Chai & Chat, every third Wednesday. For over a year straight, he brought his family recipe homemade chai, samosas, pizza, and the kind of warmth that makes strangers feel like regulars. Eventually, Chaiwala sponsored and it really felt like the universe rewarding consistency. Running regular events takes a lot out of you!!
Today he runs Oction, focused on helping lawyers and law firms grow through digital marketing, especially Google Ads. He’s also a founding member of Nook, a resident ads expert, and a co-host of our not-yet-released podcast that we’re still birthing into the world.
This is what real community looks like. It takes a village 🏘️
