Noticing restoration companies in the Lower Mainland weren’t putting customers first, he started Pro-Claim Restoration to create a new standard of service. In 1997, Tony realised job turnaround times were being disrupted by needing to outsource flooring. Always putting the customer first, he created Pro-Claim’s in-house, more sustainable flooring division, PC Flooring. Their initial tagline? “Maki
ng the world a better place, one floor at a time.”
While Tony was growing Pro-Claim across the Lower Mainland, in 2007, Geoff Shand started Platinum Pacific Restoration. Specializing in strata-type jobs, Geoff’s team was also renowned for their exceptional customer service. In 2008, Tony introduced an “employee-first” management style. Seeing how other companies were treating its employees, Tony believed that if you follow the philosophy of “what’s best for the employee,” they’ll be better motivated to produce. Since its inception, his theory has been proven time and time again. In 2013, Tony & Geoff recognized that two industry leaders were better than one. Merging Pro-Claim and Platinum Pacific Restoration into Platinum Pro-Claim Restoration, they combined specialties to bring even better service to the Lower Mainland. In 2014, with business booming, we moved into our state-of-the-art, 42,000 square-foot East Richmond home. We also acquired Canada’s only On-Site Esporta machine & Bio-Sweep Chamber, continuing our legacy of going further for our customers. In 2015, similar to the slowdowns associated with outsourcing flooring, we introduced PC Cabinetry to provide faster, more sustainable carpentry from an in-house cabinet shop. In 2016, as part of our commitment to sustainability, we purchased our first electric vehicle, but definitely not the last. With the largest fleet of any private B.C. company, our goal is being 25% electric by 2024. In 2019, PPCR partnered with Downs Construction on Vancouver Island, another company synonymous with expert customer service, to serve even more of B.C.
2019 also brought the debut of a fresh look & website, thanks to Colony Digital. While letting go of the logo that B.C. had come to know & love was tough, times had changed since 1991, and it was time our image did too.
