With more than 1,000 members, representing 600 small, medium, and large businesses and organizations and therefore, the interests of more than 30,000 citizens, The Chamber is a dynamic advocate and the principal voice for the Saint John region's business community. It offers a variety of programs, activities, services, and networking opportunities designed to enhance the business prospects of members and the overall business climate of the area.

A HISTORIC INVESTMENT IN OUR REGION’S FUTURE!!!

The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce welcomes today’s announcement of more than $370 million in federal and provincial investment in the Saint John Trade Corridor Project — a significant milestone for our region and the future of Atlantic Canada’s trade economy.

This investment represents a major step forward in strengthening Port Saint John capacity, improving transportation infrastructure and expanding our region’s ability to move goods efficiently to markets around the world.

With the potential to increase container capacity from last year’s record of 239,000 to between 825,000 and 1 million annually, this project positions our region for significant economic growth and new opportunities for businesses, workers and investors.

From rail and road improvements to expanded port facilities and enhanced border services, these strategic upgrades will strengthen our supply chains, improve connectivity and help attract new trade and investment to our region.

A stronger port means a stronger regional economy. This is the kind of transformational infrastructure investment that supports business growth, creates opportunities and reinforces Saint John’s role as a critical gateway for international trade.

We congratulate the federal and provincial governments, Port Saint John and all partners involved in advancing this important project. The benefits will extend well beyond the port, creating momentum for businesses and communities throughout the region.

This is a major investment in Saint John’s future — and an exciting step forward for our entire business community.
