Recently, the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce was proud to co-host the Energy Security Community Roundtable alongside the Canadian Chamber of Commerce
We brought together business leaders, Indigenous leaders, community representatives, industry experts, and institutional stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Canada’s energy future—and the critical role our region can play in it.
Saint John and Atlantic Canada are uniquely positioned at the intersection of energy production, refining, trade infrastructure, innovation, and export capacity. By convening diverse voices around one table, we aimed to:
✅ Identify regional priorities for energy security and economic growth
✅ Discuss ways to improve energy affordability, reliability, and competitiveness
✅ Explore opportunities in nuclear innovation, hydrogen development, clean fuels, and industrial electrification
✅ Highlight the infrastructure investments needed to support long-term growth
✅ Ensure Atlantic Canadian perspectives help inform national energy policy discussions
These conversations are essential to building a more secure, resilient, and prosperous energy future for our region and for Canada.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their insights and expertise. Your perspectives will help shape recommendations that support both economic growth and energy security across the country.
