There’s a reason 3½" supply hose is getting another look.

For many departments, 5" has been the standard for a generation. But in areas where 3½" has a long history, some departments are starting to reconsider what a dual 3½" supply layout could offer.

Two 3½" lines can provide roughly the hydraulic equivalent of a single 5" line, while giving crews more flexibility in how they build their water supply.

It’s not about going backward. It’s about finding the supply package that makes the most sense for your department.

Thankful we were able to show off our amazing team and facilities to the team this week!

They got a firsthand look at every step that goes into making our fire hose—from municipal to wildland—and even got a little hands-on experience along the way.

Special shoutout to Tim & Keith for jumping in on the forestry hose. Looking like naturals out there. 👀🔥

Thanks for making the trip and spending some time with the MTL team!

Lookin' good fellas!

We break down what causes friction loss, why it matters, and what you can do to manage it on the fireground. Read the full article at KnowYourHose.com >> https://bit.ly/47DkohX

Doing the work before the work matters. Forcible entry, hose deployment, staying sharp under pressure — training days like this are where it all gets built, rep by rep.

Caleb shares a fire from his last department: first-due engine dropped 2,000 feet of 5-inch supply hose on the way in, on a building where losing water meant losing the whole structure. A real look at when large diameter hose is exactly the tool for the job.
