When someone experiences Sexual violence it can deeply impact every part of their lives. It can create….

Fear.
Shame.
Self-doubt.
Confusion.
Anger.
Silence.

Many survivors question themselves before they ever question the harm done to them. Some worry no one will believe them. Some fear judgment, blame, or how others may react. Some stay silent for years. Some NEVER tell anyone at all.

The impact of trauma can last long after an event has passed.

That is why support matters.
That is why community matters.
That is why Teal Day matters.

Teal Day is more than just wearing and displaying a colour… Seeing teal throughout our community can be a powerful reminder to survivors that are not alone, that safe support exists, and that the people and our community care

This has grown to be a meaningful movement and we thank all those who helped build this year’s awareness campaign and we are looking forward to Teal Day!

Special Thank you Women and Gender Equity and NBCC's Robertson Institute for Community Leadership for helping support this campaign, along with all the volunteers working with us this year.
