Downtown St. Thomas businesses are teaming up for Witches Walk!

On Friday, October 16 from 4–8 PM, our downtown core will be full of shopping, socializing, treats and whatever else these businesses are brewing up. Grab your friends, put on your witchiest attire and come spend the evening on Talbot Street and beyond.

There's no set starting point. Every participating business will have Witches Walk spell sheets, so pick one up at your first stop and wander downtown from there.

Every participating business is also offering its own door prize, so enter at each stop you make. The more of downtown you explore, the more chances you have to win. And on top of all those individual prizes, there's a Witches Walk Grand Prize filled with gift cards from participating downtown businesses.

Events like this are what make our downtown feel alive. It's a chance to pop into the shops you already love, find a few new favourites and see just how much our downtown has to offer when everyone comes together.

Bring your coven and make a night of it in Downtown St. Thomas.

Huge shout out to Moonlight Painters for helping our board members and volunteers put up the banners in the downpour this morning! Tyler and Kevin from Moonlight Painters came out with Councillor Earl Taylor (also a director on our Board as Past Board Chair), Councillor Rose Gibson (also a member of our St. Thomas Legion Lord Elgin Br #41 Royal Canadian Legion) and myself early this morning to start the process before the heavy rains came.

Councillor Earl Taylor and Councillor Rose Gibson not only helped with the early morning install, they were both instrumental in moving this project along. Earl came up with the idea to work with the Legion on this and Rose helped connect in with the Legion and promote the project. Valerie Clark from the Legion was great to work with. When I talked to Allan Weatherall about it, he helped connect me with Ian Raven from The Elgin Military Museum. Ian was instrumental in reviewing all the materials and making sure we had the right flags in the right places. Sarah Van Pelt from Van Pelt's Business Solutions provided all the setup at no charge and was also fantastic to work with on the design and then the printing side.

We’ll be keeping these banners for installing next year. If you’d like to donate to the project or have someone you would like represented on a banner for next year, banners are $120. You can connect in with Valerie at the Legion to make arrangements.

Prices will likely go up when we reach out again next year in August 2027. So we recommend getting it sorted out this year, as opposed to next year.
