Finding the perfect VA for you is a process. Let's start with Step #1.

Make your Game Plan - Before you start posting job offers, what you should really do first is consider you and your business needs. Ensuring you are clear on your specific needs before hiring a VA is essential to the success of your relationship. The following are three key things I recommend doing before outsourcing.

1. Make a List - Jot down all of the things that you need help with, that consume too much of your time, OR that you don't enjoy doing. This could be email, customer service, project management, invoicing, social media, blogging, web design, etc.

2. Prioritize - From your list, what is most important for your business success, would free up time for you, AND you feel comfortable handing over to someone else?

3. Schedule - Decide if this a one time project, or do you need ongoing help? Knowing this will help you determine your budget, and also allow you to narrow down the list of candidates.

Can you add anything else to this list? Now that you have determined your needs, what's next?

There's many different types of VA's in today's world. There are VA's who help with basic business administration, and there are also VA's (like me!) who specialize in certain aspects of a business.

Basically, a VA is an independent business owner who contracts their services to another business, remotely.

There's many benefits to outsourcing some of these tasks to a VA. Can you name one?

Shop Local Today!

Small businesses are a vital part of the economy and many are still struggling due to Covid. There's plenty of ways you can show small business some much-deserved appreciation.

*Give gift cards from your favorite small businesses to encourage others to shop there.
*Share their social media pages to improve their following.
*Talk about them. Word of mouth advertising is some of the best advertising small businesses get.
*Take their business cards and then recommend them to a friend.
*Be a repeat customer. Remember small businesses are the ones who also support local events and schools, too.

Let's face it, not everyone is a morning person and sometimes having a routine makes facing the day ahead a little bit easier.

I'm actually a morning person and feel most productive in the morning, but I still have those few things I need to do before I start my day. Snuggles with the kittens, a few mindless moments scrolling Facebook, and then brewing a large bulletproof coffee.

I get it, it's so easy to get attracted to that next shiny object and get off target. I can honestly say I've fallen victim to that "Squirrel!" syndrome myself at times.

One way to stay on track and meet your goals, is to have a PLAN.

Maybe that's blocking out time to work on just one thing. Maybe it's using a project management system. Or maybe it's outsourcing those tedious tasks that you really don't enjoy doing...

Like most humans, I'm almost always in a hurry to get things done. Reach my goals. Build the life I want.. yada yada yada.

Unfortunately, this leaves little or no time to reflect and be grateful for the things I do have. This week, I'm making a conscious effort to be grateful for the following things;

1. Life - Losing a great friend too soon has taught me we are never guaranteed next year, next month, or even tomorrow. I'm grateful for the life I do have, and those that are in it.

2. Opportunities - I have a family that loves and supports me. And I can be pretty stubborn at times! I have had the chance to explore many of my interests in my lifetime, and to travel the world, and I know not everyone has that chance. I am grateful for this.

3. The Journey - I've had some great days, and some really, really not great days. Covid all but erased my 25 year career in travel and wedding management in 2020. I am grateful that these times have taught me to be resilient and to bounce back. I still have value.
