Meet Bryce Hubbs, Professional Resources Coordinator based in Moscow, ID! 👋

What do you do?

"I work with Mark Stutzman to help manage our Professional Resources team. Our Professional Resources department consists of foresters, both full-time and seasonal, and conducts forest inventory work across all of our other departments. This includes a large amount of logistics, planning, training, forest inventory plot quality control, crew leadership, etc."

What's your favorite part of your job?

"My favorite part of the job is still traveling the country, seeing new places, and getting out into the woods. Since I started working for Forsite back in 2021, I have had the privilege to work in 9 different states across the US, on a range of different contracts and land ownerships. The variety in work and travel has taken me to many places I never would have know of or been able to get outside of this job, from the Cypress swamps of Florida to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington and many unforgettable places in-between."

What is a fun fact about you?

"My girlfriend and I have two dogs (Waldo and Bruce) who, on occasion, come out to the woods to help with cruising operations (huge morale boosters), and we recently started fostering a tiny cat named Fig."

Earlier this Summer, a few members of our BC Operations Team got to see the fruits of their labour at an active logging site! 🌲

Our team did full phase development, which included recce, block layout, road layout & level 2 traverse, cruising and geometric road designs.

Thanks to Downie Timber’s Derek Burdikin for taking the time to coordinate a site visit for Warren Staff, Carson Paiement, and Jamie Black.

Happy 5 year Forsite anniversary to Austin Frie, Wildfire Management Technician! 🥳

"Congratulations to Austin on reaching his five-year anniversary with Forsite. Austin is based out of the Prince Albert, SK office. In 2024, Austin moved over to the Forsite Fire Team and has since been a major contributor to the Fire Team's success in the Prairies. Austin is confident and warm, and is an excellent team player who frequently rises to the occasion to support fellow Forsite Fire Team members in whatever capacity they need. Some of his recent work includes wildfire planning for Lac La Ronge Indian Band and working with Manitoba Parks. In July, Austin became a Registered Professional Forest Technologist with the Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals." Liam Curran, Wildfire Management Specialist

Analytics is the intersection of data and forestry decision-making.

The Analytics group at Forsite takes very large datasets and turns them forest estate models, landscape models, enhanced forest inventories, spatial models and growth and yield models that help our clients to understand the outcomes of their decisions. This leads to better, more efficient, and more informed forest management.
