Sly is nudging you to try Mad Barn Visceral+! ✨
Clearly, he knows exactly where the good stuff is kept!

Our horses don’t have to be competitive athletes to experience digestive discomfort. Everyday changes like moving barns, shifting weather, or seasonal grass transitions can cause stress to their sensitive digestive systems.

That is why Visceral+ is a daily staple in our feed room. It supports your horse’s entire digestive tract—from front to back—keeping them relaxed, happy, and comfortable in their own skin. Because at the end of the day, a happy horse is the best kind of horse.

“When are you going to ride Sly?” || “Why aren’t you riding him?”

I get asked questions like these often. My short answer is, when he’s ready. My longer answer is far more in-depth and spans 2yrs of hoof and body rehabbing.

My questions to all of you is: why does riding matter so much? Is it the centre of the relationship? If you could not ride, what would you do?

At the beginning I could not wait to ride Sly, I was so excited to sit on my own horse. Now, I’m happy to wait. What changed? Sly opened my eyes to a whole other world of training and relationships building- all of which, requires no saddle.

All the ground training I’ve done thus far will add to the clarity in the riding and work on building Sly’s strength & confidence. Luckily, the riding has always been easy for Sly, he was born “started”. So we will continue building our strong foundation even as the tack changes.

I encourage you to be curious about how you’ve trained/worked with your horse. If you don’t know where to start, there are great coaches out there (working on being one of them) and so many online resources to help expand your horizon.

Thank you Sly for being the horse that changed it all ✨🤍

(This post aside, I did sit on Sly today! He was amazing)

✨Hay Test with MadBarn✨

One of the most cost-effective ways to identify nutritional deficiencies is through a hay test, and has you covered! đź’™

Doing your own hay test with them is simple and takes the guesswork out!

The CliffsNotes version, using the hand collect method: open 5-10 bales, cut 2-3” segments weighing 200-400g, fill out the paperwork, and send with the prepaid shipping label ✨

You’ll receive a thorough analysis and recommendation report. My first hay test revealed mineral content imbalances, so MadBarn 3:1 Zinc Copper was recommended to fill the nutrition gap. Sly is doing so well on this supplement!

Yesterday these two brothers went on their first outing on the trail. Both were amazing and took everything in stride: cyclists, dirt bikes, quads, etc.

We are excited to see these horses develop and take them on another adventure- hopefully to some water for a swim.
