In acknowledgement of volunteerism and the work of many non-profits in our community, we are hosting a FREE session, Wednesday April 27th.

Labour Day marks the unofficial end to summer and the start of a new school year, but did you also know that the origins of this official holiday come from the struggles of working people and their fight for fair wages, shorter working hours and safer workplaces?

The federal government recently announced a new annual statutory day to commemorate the history of residential schools and its impact on Indigenous people and communities.

Truth and Reconciliation Day will be recognized on September 30th by federal employees, and federally regulated workplaces. Many public and private sector services will remain open or offer reduced hours, as employers adjust their schedules and operations in recognition of this important day.
