Friendly reminder to anyone who has to travel by vehicle today with the smoky conditions. It's recommended that you turn on your Air Recirculation Button when using AC. This will ensure the air inside your car is recirculated rather than pulling new smoky air from outside. It is still recommended to turn this feature off every 30-45 minutes or so to release any carbon dioxide build-up in your vehicle for about 5 minutes. Please stay safe out there today and wear a N95 mask when possible!

Back by Popular Demand Our Charity Dog Wash is BACK! 🛁

We're so excited to announce another Charity Dog Wash & BBQ at the Sarnia & District Humane Society!

Join us on Sunday, July 19th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a fun filled morning for the whole family, all while supporting the animals in our care.

This year, we're thrilled to welcome some amazing special guests!

🚒 A huge thank you to Sarnia Fire Rescue for coming out to help wash all of our furry friends. We can't wait to see the pups getting pampered by our local firefighters!

🎨 We're also excited to have The Painted Cat joining us with incredible face painting for the kids and the young at heart!

🌭 And new this year, we're firing up the BBQ! A big thank you to Davy Jones Quality Meats, Boyd Paper and Packaging Inc. , and Metro for helping make it happen.

✨ We even have a few more special surprises we'll be announcing soon, so stay tuned!

An Extended Heat Warning has been issued for Lambton County today through to Friday, July 3. On hot days like today, and throughout the summer, leaving pets in cars is a life-threatening emergency.

Even with a window left open, temperatures inside a vehicle will increase dangerously in a matter of minutes, which can lead to death or serious injury.

The Provincial Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) Act allows police to enter motor vehicles to help pets in distress. If you are concerned about an animal left unattended in a vehicle, call 9-1-1 immediately for assistance.

I personally think this is a dangerous move. The trucks get backed up from the bridge and cause a lot of sudden stops from the blind hill at Colborne Road that’s on the 402 and also the bend between Modeland and Murphy Road on the 402. It would actually be a safer bet to have the speed limit dropped to 70 km beyond Modeland. What are your thoughts on all of this
