Meet Carter Hayter, owner of River Lawn Care and a participant in the 2026 Summer Company!

Serving Corunna, Mooretown and Courtright, River Lawn Care provides reliable lawn care services including mowing, trimming, edging and blowing.

Carter started River Lawn Care with a simple goal: to save his customers time while providing a professional-looking yard, consistent results and affordable pricing. With flexible scheduling and friendly, straightforward service, he is focused on making lawn care easier for homeowners in his community.

Through Summer Company, Carter is gaining hands-on experience running and growing his own business while providing a practical service to communities across St. Clair Township.

Funded by the Province of Ontario, Summer Company supports aspiring entrepreneurs aged 15 to 29 in turning their business ideas into reality. Participants receive startup funding, mentorship and business training while gaining first-hand experience building and operating their own business.

Selina is turning her passion for visual arts into a growing business, creating handmade tote bags, key chains, sticker sheets, accessories, and custom hand-drawn caricatures.

One of Canvasels' standout offerings is the Doodle Booth, where Selina creates personalized caricatures in Polaroid and photo-strip formats through custom orders and live at markets and community events.

Through Summer Company, Selina is gaining hands-on experience building her business while bringing creativity and one-of-a-kind artwork to the Sarnia-Lambton community.

Changing tariffs and international trade conditions continue to create uncertainty for businesses. There are resources and funding opportunities available to help businesses respond, adapt and remain competitive.

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership maintains a dedicated Tariff & Trade Resources page with current information on tariffs, CUSMA compliance, financing and funding programs, exporting, market diversification, supply chains and other supports available to businesses.

Businesses may also be eligible for support through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). The program currently has an active intake through FedDev Ontario and supports eligible southern Ontario businesses investing in productivity, reducing costs, strengthening supply chains and expanding into new markets.

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is hiring a Program Coordinator to lead the Sarnia-Lambton Newcomer Hub, a multi-year, federally funded initiative supporting newcomers as they build their careers, businesses, and lives in our community.

This role will oversee the delivery of the Newcomer Hub, working directly with newcomers, local employers, community organizations, and other partners to strengthen workforce development and economic participation across Lambton County.

This is a full-time, in-office contract position based in Sarnia, Ontario, through March 30, 2029.

If you have experience in program coordination, workforce development, community engagement, or a related field and are interested in making a meaningful impact in Sarnia-Lambton, we’d like to hear from you.

Chinmay is bringing his tennis experience and passion for the sport to RacquetHub, offering tennis and badminton racquet stringing services along with private tennis lessons for players looking to improve their game.

By combining coaching and racquet stringing, Chinmay is making it easier for local players to access both training and equipment services right here in Sarnia-Lambton.

Through Summer Company, Chinmay is gaining hands-on experience running his own business while sharing his skills and helping grow the local tennis community.

Running a business means making decisions every day. But finding the time to step away from the day-to-day and think about where your business is going next can be difficult.

This fall, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is bringing together a small group of experienced business owners for our six-session Business Mastermind Series.

What to expect:
✅ Six expert-led sessions focused on the issues that matter most to you and your business.
✅ Practical insights to help you make more confident business decisions
✅ Peer perspectives from other experienced local business owners
✅ A confidential setting to exchange ideas, learn, and plan for what’s next

The series runs bi-weekly on Wednesdays from September 23 to December 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
