Can you spot the difference???

Goblet squats are an amazing lower body, posture and core exercise. They are also one of Dr. Jane's favourites. Many people can injure themselves getting the weight in correct position.

The first squat is straining because you have to clean and "catch" the heavy dumbbell with an awkward grip putting your body at risk. The second, safer position, seen from the side, allows you to rest the weight on your thigh and get your hands in the proper position, avoiding the high risk awkward "catching" of the dumbbell.

Last week In Motion Petrolia office had an exciting day at the Petrolia Eats, Beats, and Boutiques event. The weather was perfect, and we thank all who visited our booth and entered our prize draws. Reggie won the top prize of Jays tickets, AGO tickets, Sting tickets, and Sloan's Christmas tree, while Wyatt won the Alvinston Pro Rodeo day passes. We congratulate both winners. Furthermore, we collected donations for the Petrolia Community Refrigerator, which were delivered to their booth by Eden, Erica's daughter. We appreciate everyone's contributions. Are you looking for a quality shoe but don't necessarily know what to look for. These 3 tests can be done in store to test how supportive the shoe is.πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ

1. Grab the shoe by the front and back and try to bent it upwards: The first shoe with poor support will fold in half while the high quality shoe will barely bend.

2. Twist the shoe back and forth: The shoe with poor support will twist like a dishcloth, whereas a supportive shoe will barely rotate.

3. Pinch the heel counter: Pushing on both sides of the heel, a poorly supportive shoe will squeeze together and collapse. The high quality shoe will not collapse.

Our client of the month is Jake. He originally started at In Motion for annual concussion assessments before sports. Then he incorporated chiropractic care and massage therapy into his care plan. Because he is involved in a lot of physical sports, he wants to make sure to stay physically health and able to performed at his best. For the last 5 years, Jake typically comes 2-3 times per month. What he appreciates most? the knowledgeable staff that always makes him feel comfortable and supported!

Over exposure to UV rays can cause sunburn, premature aging, eye damage and skin cancer. We are best protected by sunblock that blocks against both UVA and UVB rays with an SPF above 30. However the most common myth about sun safety??? "I don't burn so I don't need sunscreen." Even if you don't burn, over exposure to UV rays higher our risk of early again and cancer from cell damage.
