Can you spot the difference???
Goblet squats are an amazing lower body, posture and core exercise. They are also one of Dr. Jane's favourites. Many people can injure themselves getting the weight in correct position.
The first squat is straining because you have to clean and "catch" the heavy dumbbell with an awkward grip putting your body at risk. The second, safer position, seen from the side, allows you to rest the weight on your thigh and get your hands in the proper position, avoiding the high risk awkward "catching" of the dumbbell.
