The cultural center at the Seabee site has been re-named in honour of our late friend and colleague, Glenn Lafleur. Glenn served Seabee in the role of community relations from 2024 until his passing in late 2025. Glenn was proud of his Métis heritage. His vision for the center was to create a space where employees could honour and celebrate their own cultural traditions and learn about the traditions of others. Seabee employees are encouraged to use the center in ways that would honour Glenn's memory.

Please be advised that our meeting in the community of Deschambault Lake, planned for tonight (October 6th) is cancelled. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire community affected by a tragic death that occurred over the weekend. We will reschedule the meeting later in the fall.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a day to openly acknowledge the tragic and shameful legacy of Canada’s residential school system. It is a day to honour the memories of the many children who never returned home, as well as the survivors, their families and communities.

True reconciliation is about much more than wearing orange on a single day. At Seabee, we are committed to ongoing learning, unlearning, and taking meaningful action to build collaborative partnerships with the Indigenous nations who host our operations in Saskatchewan.

We are thrilled to highlight our Seabee Employee Family Scholarship recipients for the 2026-2027 school year supporting post-secondary education for the family members of our team! We are proud to support their educational journey and recognize their hard work, dedication, and commitment in pursuing their educational goals.

Proud to share that SSR Seabee has completed our annual mill shutdown on schedule with zero injuries. Shutdowns are necessary to ensure our equipment is working properly, and shutdown work involves many potential high-risk activities. Through the process, near misses and learning opportunities were openly shared reinforcing Seabee's commitment to a transparent, blame-free safety culture that supports our goal of continuous improvement. Congratulations to all on a job well and safely done!

We’re proud to share that SSR Seabee is seeking certification from the International Cyanide Management Code, reaffirming our commitment to the safe and responsible management of cyanide in the gold mining process. This is one of the ways Seabee strives to meet the highest industry standards for safety and environmental stewardship.

The 2026 Saskatchewan Mining Association Emergency Response/Mine Rescue Skills Competition took place on June 7th in Saskatoon. The annual event featured 19 teams testing their skills in seven events, including Mine Problem, Practical Skills, First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Bench Technician.

Congrats to the SSR Seabee team for doing a great job of demonstrating their top-notch skills! Safety First, Always.
