๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ The 2025 Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program is now open!

๐Ÿ“ฌ IRCC has started sending out invitations to apply (ITA) under the 2025 PGP. Around 17,860 invitations will be sent, aiming to approve 10,000 complete applications.

โœ… Only individuals who submitted an โ€œInterest to Sponsorโ€ form in 2020 (and havenโ€™t been invited yet) are eligible this round.
โš ๏ธ No new submissions are being accepted in 2025.

๐Ÿ“… If you submitted the form back in 2020, check your email carefully (including your spam folder) to see if youโ€™ve received an invitation.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Sponsors must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for 2022, 2023, and 2024, based on family size. Income proof from tax returns is required.

๐Ÿ”’ A 20-year financial undertaking is also required (10 years in Quebec).

๐Ÿ“ If you receive an invitation, you must submit your full application through the PR portal before the deadline indicated in your email (no later than October 9, 2025).

๐Ÿ’ก Didnโ€™t receive an invitation? You can still consider applying for a Super Visa, which allows your parents or grandparents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time, with possible extensions.

You donโ€™t need a fancy degree or years of corporate experience โ€” these 10 in-demand jobs could be your fast track to PR! ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ›ซ

1๏ธโƒฃ Registered Nurses (NOC 31301)

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ IRCC Backlog Update: Over 840,000 Applications Delayed

Thinking of applying for a Canadian visa or immigration program? Here's what you should know:

๐Ÿ“Œ As of June 30, 2025, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) is facing a growing application backlog โ€” now sitting at 842,800 cases across all programs.

๐Ÿ” Hereโ€™s a quick breakdown:

๐Ÿ›‚ Permanent Residence (PR)
โ€ข 46% of PR files are backlogged โ€” especially high in Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
โ€ข Express Entry backlog is around 20%, while family sponsorship sits near 14%.

๐Ÿงณ Temporary Visas (Work, Study, Visit)
โ€ข Overall backlog rate: 36%
โ€ข Work Permits: 40% backlogged
โ€ข Visitor Visas: 53% (a slight drop from May)
โœ… Study Permits: Good news! Backlog dropped to 18% โ€” the lowest in over a year.

๐Ÿ Citizenship Applications
โ€ข Holding steady at 19%, within IRCCโ€™s standard processing time.

๐Ÿ’ก Why the delay?
IRCC is dealing with a high volume of applications, limited staffing, and shifting immigration targets. While automation is helping, complex files still need human review.

๐Ÿ“ฌ Planning to apply soon?
Make sure you understand the current wait times and choose the right program for your situation.

NB Business Immigration: Step-by-Step Guide

Thinking of moving to Canada as a business owner?

Hereโ€™s a step-by-step breakdown of the New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream (NB BIS) โ€“ a structured pathway that starts with a work permit and may lead to permanent residency if all conditions are met.

๐Ÿ“Œ Key steps:

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

Receive an Invitation to Apply and submit your documents

Sign a Business Performance Agreement

Apply for a work permit and move to New Brunswick

Start and operate your business (minimum $150,000 CAD investment)

After 6 months of operations, apply for nomination

If nominated, apply for PR through IRCC

๐Ÿ›‘ Important: This is not an instant PR program. Every step includes review and approval, and the final decision rests with IRCC.

๐Ÿ’ก Suitable for experienced entrepreneurs who are ready to manage a business and live in New Brunswick.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Thinking about immigrating to Canada through entrepreneurship?

Hereโ€™s a lesser-known pathway that might suit you better than you think:
The New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream (NB BIS).

โœ… Invest at least $150,000 CAD
โœ… Have a personal net worth of $500,000+
โœ… Own or manage a business
โœ… Willing to live and run a business in New Brunswick
โœ… Basic English skills (CLB 4+)
โœ… Age 19โ€“59

๐Ÿ” If this sounds like you, you might be a good fit for this pathway.

๐Ÿ’ก This is not a passive investment route. You must actively manage the business and live in the province.

๐Ÿ“Œ It starts with a work permit โ€“ and only after meeting specific business conditions can you apply for permanent residency.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Thinking about moving to Canada but already over 40? Hereโ€™s what you need to know.

A lot of people assume theyโ€™re too old to immigrate once they hit 40 โ€” but thatโ€™s simply not true.

While Canadaโ€™s Express Entry system does give fewer points for age after 30, there are several other ways to make up for it โ€” and even more immigration programs that arenโ€™t age-focused at all.

โœ… Boost your points with strong language test scores (English or French)
โœ… Get your education assessed (ECA) to unlock more CRS points
โœ… Use your work experience to your advantage
โœ… Apply through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) โ€” some add 600 points to your profile
โœ… Explore employer-driven or experience-based pathways like CEC or AIP

Whether you're a skilled worker, tradesperson, or have management experience, there's likely a pathway that fits your profile.
