How to plan for reactions to even small changes in work processes with your team…..

1. The power of the pause Remember your own initial reaction. Was it “finally”! Or was it “here we go again”. Most likely your diverse team will experience both. Remember that both reactions are valid.

2. What’s going away?
Identify with your team what is going away.

3. What’s starting?
Identify with your team what will be starting for them.

4. Smooth the shift.
With a better understanding of how they are reacting and why, you can focus on the actions that will help the change smoother.

Whether big or small changes causes challenges. Plan ahead to mitigate them.

Think about the peers, vendors, or stakeholders that you trust. Things move quickly and smoothly. When there are issues they get communicated and solved quickly.

Now think about those vendors, peers, and stakeholders that you always struggle with. Things take longer, mistakes are made, and nothing seems to be easy. Trust is low.

This takes time and money. If you take the time to build trust it will increase collaboration, ex*****on, innovation, and engagement.

The economics of trust says it’s worth the investment.
