In the New Year, it’s more important than ever to ensure you’re submitting the correct documents for your immigration application—especially with so many unexpected changes being implemented these days.

We are often asked about the differences between a Job Approval Letter (JAL), a Job Offer Letter, and an Employment Verification or Reference Letter.

Here’s a simple explanation to help you understand the differences and ensure you submit the right documents with all the required details.

🎉 Success Story: Open Work Permit Approved! 🇨🇦

Our client arrived in Canada on an LMIA-based work permit for a receptionist position. But upon arrival, the employer offered them into doing janitorial work — a role that was not offered or agreed to in the job offer submitted to IRCC.

When the worker refused to accept, the employer withdrew the original job offer, leaving the worker vulnerable and at risk of losing their status.

We prepared a strong case by collecting relevant evidence and applied for an Open Work Permit under the Vulnerable Workers Program— and we’re happy to share that it was approved! ✅

This program exists to protect workers from abuse or job misrepresentation — and this is a great example of how it can make a difference.

✨ Client Success Story – Open Work Permit Approved Under Vulnerable Worker Category ✨

We are proud to share another successful outcome!

Our client came to us after enduring months of unpaid labor and repeated exploitation by their employer. Despite multiple requests for rightful compensation, the employer refused to pay. Bound by an employer-specific work permit, our client felt trapped—afraid of losing their job and being forced to leave Canada.

We took immediate action. With a comprehensive explanation and strong supporting documents, we submitted an application under the Vulnerable Foreign Worker category. Within just one month, our client was granted an open work permit, giving them the freedom to work for any employer in Canada and escape the abusive situation.

If you or someone you know is being mistreated or exploited at the workplace, don’t stay silent—reach out to us. You’re not alone.

✨ A Big Win for Our Client! ✨

In these uncertain times, with limited pathways to Permanent Residency, extended work permits can make a huge difference — and we’re proud to share another success story from Seven Sage Immigration!

Our client completed a two-year program:
📍 Year 1: Studied outside Canada at a partner institution
📍 Year 2: Studied in Canada

However, IRCC only counted the Canadian portion of her studies and initially granted her just a 1-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

She previously applied for an extension through another consultant — unfortunately, it was refused. But she didn’t give up.

She came to us, and with the right approach and strong representation, we helped her secure an additional 2-year extension on her PGWP! 🙌

This extra time gives her a valuable opportunity to gain Canadian work experience and explore more Permanent Residency options. 🇨🇦

🎉 Permanent Resident Application Approval 🎉

We congratulate our clinet and three of his family members for becoming Permanent Residents of Canada.

Coming from Portugal, our clinet acquired a job as a truck driver and hired us to apply for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. After securing the provincial nomination, we also applied for his PR under the Provincial Nominee Program. The application was approved in just less than 7 months.
