Dance became more than an activity for Heather’s family, it became a way for her children to connect with their heritage, build confidence, and discover what they’re capable of.

But with a large family and a tight budget, dance lessons felt out of reach.

Thanks to support from Youth+Us partner Creative Kids Saskatchewan, seven of Heather’s children have been able to take part in Highland dance, performing, competing, mentoring others, and embracing a meaningful part of their identity along the way.

“I actually can’t imagine our lives without dance,” says Heather. “It’s been so good for our family, and I’m so grateful to Creative Kids for that.”

Keeping one child active and entertained can often feel like a full-time job, and with extracurricular activities, the costs can add up quickly. Now imagine trying to do it for eight children…

We were excited to welcome participants from the Saskatchewan Mining Association's GeoVenture program to our Bethune mine site today.

From learning how potash is mined through a tour of our plant to getting a behind-the-scenes look at our Emergency Response Team bay, the group got a closer look at the people, processes, and safety practices that support our operations every day.

Thanks for spending the day with us and learning more about Saskatchewan mining. ⛏️

Want to know how industrial crystallizers handle massive energy transfers? It all comes down to two smart condenser designs working in harmony:

🌀 The Cooling Medium: Essential for absorbing heat, cooling mediums lower v***r temperatures to drive the crystallization process and maintain critical vacuum pressures.

💧 Barometric Condensers: Direct-contact units that absorb v***r straight into cooling water from our cooling tower during warm weather months or exit brine from our cooling ponds during winter months, utilizing internal disc and donut shelves for downward flow and heavy-duty hotwell liquid seals to lock out atmospheric air.

⚙️ Surface Condensers: Non-contact units fed by crystallizer overflow return that isolate v***r onto sealed tubes to produce ultra-pure, nearly boiler-clean condensate for mining brine reuse.

By chaining these systems together through our 5 crystallizers, we maximize heat recovery and maintain tight vacuum seals.

Since 2024, our Communications Manager, Sydney, has volunteered as Chair of her daycare board, taking on everything from governance and fundraising to learning the ins and outs of childcare regulations – all driven by a passion for quality, accessible childcare.

“Reliable childcare makes it possible for families to participate in the workforce,” Sydney says, a reality that supports families at K+S and across our communities.

Through Volunteer Plus+, Sydney uses paid volunteer hours for key events and planning days and directs the $300 annual donation to the daycare, where every dollar makes a difference.

From creative fundraisers (including an infamous ugly couch move that raised over $2,000) to board leadership, Sydney’s volunteer work helps keep her community connected, supported, and thriving.
