📄 August 7, 1935 (Star Phoenix): Details the initial excavating and levelling of our riverfront grounds prior to our grand opening. Chief landscape gardener William Glass and local contractors worked alongside the city to design terraced lawns, caragana hedges, and a central sunken garden welcoming to the public.

📄 Modern Conveniences: An archival feature celebrating the milestone installation of 300 in-room telephones - a state-of-the-art marvel of its era that connected guests directly from their rooms to "every part of the world."

Centuries-old charm, built on vision and innovation. 🏰

A celebration of timeless love at the Castle on the River. 🥂✨

In October 2004, Kyla and her husband celebrated their marriage surrounded by nearly 200 loved ones in the grand Adam Ballroom. Eleven years later, they returned to capture a quiet moment - and a cheeky selfie - where it all began.

As they prepare to celebrate 22 years of marriage this fall, we are honoured to have played a part in their story.

Built with Canadian pride, rooted in Saskatoon history. 🇨🇦✨

Named in honour of the Earl of Bessborough, a former Governor General of Canada, our grand hotel was initiated by the Canadian National Railway in the 1920s and officially opened on December 10, 1935.

As this archival document details, every effort was made to construct the hotel using materials sourced from coast to coast - including Manitoba Tyndall stone, Estevan tiles, Hamilton steel, and Toronto granite.

A true symbol of resilience built through the dark years of the Great Depression, standing proudly at 601 Spadina Crescent.

When Mr. and Mrs. Dlugan heard about our upcoming renovations this past spring, they reached out with a special request: to keep the original room number plaque from their wedding suite.
