The OINP Expression of Interest portal opened on August 4, 2026 and Ontario has published the full scoring grid. Every EOI profile is now ranked out of 130 points for job offer applicants and 115 for self-employed physicians.

Here is how the scoring works across 11 factors:

Your NOC TEER category earns up to 9 points with TEER 0 and 1 scoring highest. Your broad occupational category earns up to 10 points. Your hourly wage earns up to 15 points with $40 or more per hour scoring the maximum. Your Ontario work experience earns up to 18 points with over 24 months scoring highest. Your Canadian earnings history adds additional points. Your education level earns up to 10 points. Your language ability earns up to 15 points with CLB 9 or higher scoring the maximum, with a bonus for testing in both English and French.

And here is the big one for Northern Ontario: your work location earns up to 15 points. Northern Ontario scores the maximum 15 points. Toronto scores zero.

No cut-off score has been published yet. Ontario has not announced when invitation rounds will be held. But your score right now determines your position in the ranking pool when they do.

Do you know where you stand? Book a consultation and let Jennifer review your scoring profile before the first invitation round is held.

Canada just issued 300 Express Entry invitations to transport occupation candidates on August 7, 2026 at a CRS cutoff of 470. This is only the 4th time IRCC has held a Transport Occupations draw since category-based selection was introduced in 2023.

The Transport Occupations category covers roles including transport truck drivers, bus drivers, heavy equipment operators, aircraft mechanics and inspectors, and pilots. To qualify for this category you need at least 12 months of full-time work experience in the past 3 years in a single eligible transport occupation.

With only 4 draws ever held in this category, the pattern is clear. These draws are infrequent and the invitation volumes are small. If you work in transport and your CRS score is in the right range, waiting for the next draw without optimizing your profile is a risk.

Know your CRS score. Know your transport NOC code. Know your options before the next draw comes.

This is one of the most important immigration alerts of 2026 and it is not getting enough attention.

Over 1,500 international graduates across Canada have received Post-Graduation Work Permit refusals this summer citing one reason: non-credit program.

A PGWP refusal means you must stop working the day IRCC notifies you. No grace period. No advance warning.

IRCC updated its eligibility page on June 24, 2026 to clarify that graduates of non-credit programs are not eligible for a PGWP. The most documented cases involve partnership programs between public colleges and private providers. But this is a national issue affecting graduates everywhere.

Ask yourself two questions right now. Is your program credit-bearing with an official transcript from your designated learning institution? Does your program appear on the IRCC DLI program eligibility list?

If you are not sure of both answers, book a consultation before you apply for your PGWP.

If you already received a refusal, contact us immediately. Options may still be available but time is critical.

Canada issued 500 Express Entry invitations to Senior Managers with Canadian work experience at a CRS cutoff of 392. That is the lowest cutoff of any Express Entry draw in all of 2026.

For context, CEC draws in 2026 have not dropped below 507. French language draws reached as low as 393. This Senior Managers draw at 392 sits at the very bottom of all 2026 invitation cutoffs.

To qualify for this category you need at least 12 months of Canadian work experience in a senior management occupation in the past three years. Eligible roles include senior managers in financial and business services, health, education, social and community services, and trade and broadcasting services.

If you have a strong management background and a CRS in the 380 to 420 range, this category is actively being invited. The question is whether your profile is complete, current, and optimized to qualify the next time IRCC runs this draw.

Most people think qualifying for the new Ontario Workforce Priority Stream requires months of experience in the exact job your employer is offering. That is the general rule. But there are powerful exceptions that change everything.

Exception 1: Related occupation experience counts.

If you were a nurse, your nursing experience can count toward a PSW job offer. If you were an engineer, your experience can count toward an engineering technician job offer. If you were a pharmacist, your experience can count toward a pharmacy assistant job offer.

Exception 2: A mandatory Canadian licence can replace all work experience requirements.

If you hold a licence required by Ontario or Canadian law to perform the work in your job offer, you may qualify for the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream with zero Canadian work experience. This applies whether you are inside or outside Canada.

This changes the picture completely for many internationally trained professionals who thought they did not qualify.

Know your full eligibility picture before you write yourself off.
