PART 3: 🚨 NO LMIA REQUIRED FOR EXPRESS ENTRY JOB OFFERS — BUT READ THIS FIRST!

Effective November 3, 2026, IRCC will no longer require an LMIA for a job offer to qualify under the updated Express Entry rules.

But does that mean employers no longer need LMIAs?
NO. Not necessarily.

❌ The change does not eliminate LMIA requirements for employer-specific work permits.

❌ Not every job offer qualifies for additional CRS points.

❌ A job offer does not automatically authorize someone to work in Canada.

✅ Eligible high-wage job offers may qualify for 50, 70 or 100 CRS points.

✅ Job offers must still meet the applicable requirements and be assessed as genuine by IRCC.

PART 2: 🇨🇦 DOES YOUR OCCUPATION QUALIFY FOR NEW EXPRESS ENTRY POINTS?

Starting November 3, 2026, eligible high-wage occupations may qualify for additional CRS points.

📌 Canadian work experience bonus: 20, 40 or 70 points
📌 Qualifying job offers: 50, 70 or 100 points

⚠️ Important: These points are not simply combined. IRCC compares the applicable scoring options and awards the higher total.

And here's something many applicants may misunderstand:
Your personal salary does NOT determine whether your occupation is classified as high-wage.

IRCC uses the national median wage associated with your NOC code.

PART 1: 🇨🇦 MAJOR EXPRESS ENTRY CHANGES COMING NOVEMBER 3, 2026!

Canada is changing how candidates earn CRS points for Canadian work experience and qualifying job offers.

Under the new Labour Market Integration factor:

✅ Up to 150 points may be available
✅ Additional points for eligible high-wage Canadian work experience
✅ Qualifying job offers may earn CRS points again
✅ LMIAs will no longer be required for qualifying Express Entry job offers

But here's what you need to understand: Not everyone will receive additional points.

IRCC will also recalculate existing Express Entry profiles, which could take up to two weeks. Invitation rounds will be paused during this transition.

🚨 PROVINCIAL NOMINEE WITH A WORK PERMIT EXPIRING SOON? DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST FEW WEEKS TO MAKE A PLAN.

Receiving a provincial nomination is an important milestone—but it does not automatically extend your work authorization in Canada.

If your nomination or current work permit is approaching its expiry date, now is the time to review what comes next.

Depending on your nomination and circumstances, you may need to consider:

✅ Whether your nomination remains valid
✅ Whether your province has issued—or can issue—the appropriate work permit support documentation
✅ Whether you qualify for a T13 LMIA-exempt employer-specific work permit
✅ Whether your employer needs to complete an Employer Portal submission and pay the employer compliance fee
✅ Whether your PR application has already been submitted
✅ Whether another work permit option, including a BOWP where eligible, may be available
✅ Most importantly—how to protect your temporary resident status before it expires

⚠️ Timing matters.

A provincial nomination by itself does not give you authorization to continue working, and not every provincial nominee qualifies for the same type of work permit.
