At JF Immigration, we acknowledge that our office is located on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. Scarborough is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and we are grateful to live and work on this land.

As we move forward, we stand with Indigenous communities and reaffirm our commitment to learning, listening, and contributing to meaningful reconciliation.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Government of Canada ended the temporary public policy that allowed visitors to apply for work permits from inside Canada.

The public policy came into effect in August 2020 as a COVID-19 measure and was scheduled to end on February 28, 2025. However, as a part of a wave of recent immigration policy changes, Canada is taking measures to recalibrate the number of temporary residents in Canada as a means of preserving the integrity of their immigration system.
