I am seeing so many invoices or bills come across my desk, on behalf of bookkeeping clients, without proper information on them.

Some important items to include when invoicing clients for your services are: your legal name and/or legal business name and return address, invoice date, invoice #, legal name and/or legal business name of client (can’t collect monies or go to court for non-payment if the name is not legal), GST # and PST # if you are collecting taxes on behalf of government bodies, terms, acceptable forms of payment, payable to information, and interest charges for non-payment of terms if applicable.

Same information applies when receiving bills from vendors.

It is illegal to charge for GST if one does not note ones GST # on the invoice or bill … article updated July 2018 by H&R block - https://www.hrblock.in/earlygst/how-to-verify-gstin/

Is the GST # on the bill you just received real? You will need the GST #, the legal name or company name of the person who billed you, and the transaction date in order to check GST compliance - https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-businesses/confirming-a-gst-hst-account-number.html

To enable HTTPS on your website, you need to get a certificate (a type of file) from a Certificate Authority (CA). Let’s Encrypt is a CA. In order to get a certificate for your website’s domain from Let’s Encrypt, you have to demonstrate control over the domain. With Let’s Encrypt, you do th...
