🐭 Caught the mouse? Don’t reach for the vacuum.
Removing the mouse is only the first step. Droppings, urine and nesting materials still need careful cleanup—and an open entry point can invite the next visitor.
Here’s what to do:
✅ Air out the space.
Open doors and windows for 30 minutes and leave the area while it ventilates.
✅ Wet before you wipe.
Wear rubber or plastic gloves. Never sweep or vacuum dry mouse droppings. Thoroughly wet the waste with a suitable Health Canada-approved surface disinfectant and allow a 10-minute soak before collecting it. Follow the product’s label and safety directions.
✅ Remove, clean and disinfect.
Collect wet waste with paper towels, double-bag contaminated materials and dispose of them according to local rules. Then clean and disinfect hard surfaces, keeping them wet for the contact time on the label. Wash your hands after removing gloves.
✅ Treat lingering odours separately.
Good Riddance is designed to tackle organic odours, including mouse urine smell. It does not replace disinfection—and it should not be applied over disinfectant residues without checking compatibility.
✅ Close the door on the next mouse.
Seal entry holes, repair gaps under doors, store food and pet food in secure containers, and keep garbage tightly covered. Cleaning products alone won’t prevent another infestation.
Before reaching for poison, start with prevention and properly placed traps, kept away from children and pets. Rodent poisons can harm other animals too.
Heavy contamination or rodents in air ducts? Bring in a professional.
