You do not need a referral from a doctor, midwife, or other healthcare professional to contact Alberta Health Services (AHS) Continuing Care.

If you’re struggling with recovery after childbirth and wondering whether support may be available, you can contact AHS directly and request an assessment yourself.

Many mothers don’t realize that home care support isn’t only for seniors.

For some individuals recovering from health challenges—including certain postpartum recovery situations—home care services may be available following an assessment by an AHS Case Manager.

If approved for the Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) program, you may have the option to choose an approved provider for your services.

And here’s another important thing to know:

💜 If approved for CDHCI, eligible services are government-funded, meaning you do not pay out of pocket for approved support.

As a CDHCI-approved provider, Plum Wings Family Care Co. is committed to helping families understand their options and access compassionate support when eligible.
