A little behind-the-scenes project at Barr Estate Winery has grown into something much larger.
Barry—short for BarrAI—began as a practical way to organize business records and retrieve information using ordinary questions.
We then applied the same idea to Amy’s photographic archive. Barry gathered image files spread across three computers without disturbing the originals. After extensive cleanup, we now have approximately 135,000 useful photographs that can be searched by people, animals, vineyards, pastureland and other subjects.
Rick has started documenting how the project was built, what works, what doesn’t, and what we learn as it continues to evolve. Full disclosure: Barry helps with the writing.
