Case Study Highlight: Rosthern Water Treatment Plant

The Rosthern Water Treatment Plant was built to more than triple the Saskatchewan community’s water capacity while supporting future residential growth and the newly constructed Sask Valley Hospital.

Specialty Products Group’s V***r Lock™ 20/21 was incorporated throughout the facility’s base slab, holding tanks and top slab. By waterproofing and densifying the concrete from within, V***r Lock™ 20/21 helps support reliable water containment, reduce moisture-related deterioration and extend the facility’s service life.

This impressive two-story educational facility features classrooms, offices, café space, and a flexible conference area, all designed to serve the evolving needs of students and the community.

To help ensure long-term flooring performance, 80,000 square feet of concrete slab was protected with V***r Lock™ 20/20.

Specialty Products Group is proud to highlight another successful healthcare construction project featuring V***r Lock™ 20/20 at the University of Michigan Hospital Clinical Inpatient Tower in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

This $920M, 12-story facility adds 264 private patient rooms and 20 operating rooms, with more than 1.3 million sq. ft. using V***r Lock™ 20/20 across all SOG and SOD concrete applications.

Monthly History Spotlight - Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana is one of the most remarkable concrete structures ever built.

Stretching nearly 24 miles across Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway remains one of the longest continuous bridges over water in the world. It is a lasting example of what concrete infrastructure can achieve.

Opened in 1956, the bridge was designed to withstand harsh marine conditions, constant exposure to water, and decades of daily traffic. Its durability comes from one essential material: concrete.

Supported by over 9,000 concrete pilings, the Causeway demonstrates how properly engineered concrete structures can deliver strength, resilience, and longevity for generations. Nearly 70 years later, it continues to serve as a critical transportation link for Louisiana communities.

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway proves that when infrastructure is built right, concrete doesn’t just support progress; it becomes part of history.
