I picked up some beautiful succulents yesterday from . While thinking about how I was going to give these little guys the best chance of success, I thought to myself, what is it that we give employees that truly makes them grow? ▪️ Is it: money, benefits, time off, flex days, coffee, music, better hiring, better firing? ▪️ It could be any number of things that allow employees to dive into their workplaces and realize their true potential. ▪️ But how do we know what to do to achieve this???? It isn’t successful for every company, and some Employers have decided to bring Employees back to the office again. If it’s done right, it can boost productivity and morale. What are the things you consider as a business when you decide to end employment? . It’s a good idea to consider things like: - length of employment - Distance to possible retirement - Damage to your company image in the community - Damage to morale of those left behind, even if only in the short run - Loss of company property (physical and intellectual) - Human Rights claims - Employment Standards or legal ramifications . The last items on this list can be devastating to a small business. Even if you win in court, you will still spend thousands of dollars to get a decision with no guarantee of success. I can help mitigate this risk by doing things the right way. The last decade has taught me some very effective tools to help you navigate these tough times. .
