This quarter marked Vale Base Metals’ sixth consecutive quarter of strong production results. We are particularly proud to highlight VBM Newfoundland and Labrador’s *record quarterly production* at Long Harbour! 🥳

Full Q2 highlights:
➡️ Copper production increased 6% year over year to 98.4 kt
➡️ Nickel production rose 4% year over year to 42 kt – supported by record quarterly production at Long Harbour!
➡️ Copper sales rose 10% year over year
➡️ Nickel sales rose 7% year over year at an average realized price of $18,061/tonne

We are currently seeking a Recruiter (18-month fixed term) to join our team! This fixed-term position will be working a Monday to Friday schedule, based in St. John’s with travel to Long Harbour and Voisey’s Bay on an as-needed basis.

The Recruiter is responsible for managing the complete recruitment cycle - from the sourcing of candidates through to the onboarding of the successful applicant.

Competing against top teams from across Atlantic Canada, our team demonstrated skill, teamwork, and professionalism in emergency response, firefighting, first aid, and rescue scenarios.

This year, Vale Base Metals employees were proud to take part in the Defeat Depression Walk in both St. John’s and Voisey’s Bay, joining communities across the country in support of mental health awareness. 🧠💙

The walk was an opportunity to come together, show support for those affected by depression, and help break down the stigma surrounding mental health. Through participation and fundraising, we are helping support programs and services that make a difference in our communities.

A big thank you to everyone who laced up their shoes, raised awareness, and showed their support! Together, we can help create healthier, more supportive communities for all.

We are looking for individuals with a diverse group of backgrounds to join our Long Harbour Operations Team as a Processing Plant Technician (PPT). In addition, we are seeking candidates with Power Engineering certification to support our PPT duties in the Utilities Department.

The shift requirement for this role is a rotating 12-hour shift, for a one year fixed term contract, with strong potential for permanent employment. The position is located in Long Harbour, NL.

For more than a decade, Vale Base Metals has proudly supported the Canadian Cancer Society's Air Daffodil program in Newfoundland and Labrador. 🌼 This important program helps remove travel barriers for people receiving cancer treatment and provides comfort and support to patients and their families when they need it most.

This week, some of our VBM team visited Daffodil Place in St. John’s to learn more about the incredible work being done to support those staying there during treatment.

We are proud to stand with the Canadian Cancer Society and help make a difference in the lives of people throughout our province. 💛

⚡ We’re making it easier to drive electric at our Long Harbour Processing Plant.

Earlier this year, VBM installed a new fast EV charger at the Long Harbour Processing Plant to support lower-carbon transportation. The new Level 3 charger can power up a vehicle in 25 to 30 minutes, making it up to seven times faster than a Level 2 charger.

With eight electric vehicles now in our provincial fleet and more employees driving EV and hybrid vehicles, our team has a faster and more reliable charging option that helps make EV travel easier and more practical.

This investment supports our commitment to sustainability and to making everyday life easier for our employees. 🚗🔋🌱
