🎉 Groundhog Day – First Results! 🌼

As the day begins across Canada, our animal (and plush animal) forecasting counterparts are getting ready to declare if we’re in for an early spring or extended winter. The results are now in from Atlantic Canada and Quebec!

In Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, the poor weather conditions have kept Schubenacadie Sam from venturing out. By default, he has not seen his shadow, and this suggests that an early spring is in the forecast.

Lucy the Lobster left her spa in Barrington, Nova Scotia for a brief appearance. She did not see her shadow, so she is also forecasting an early spring for Atlantic Canada.

Echoing this sentiment, Val-d’Espoir, Quebec’s Fred la Marmotte has signaled the same: no shadow and therefore, a prediction of early spring.
