Spring is in the air and creativity levels remain high, some days higher than others but all is good.

For the time being the Studio is going to remain open by appointment only, so please be sure to call ahead of time to book your visit.

In Ontario, the government mask mandate is being lifted on March 21st. However we are not comfortable waiving that requirement quite yet. For the foreseeable future, we will continue to wear masks in the Studio during visits, and we ask that you keep your mask on for your entire visit. If you haven't got one with you, we are happy to provide one to you to wear during your visit with us.

We understand that everyone is tired of wearing a mask, we are as well but our number one concern is that our family, friends and visitors feel safe inside the Studio and for now, that means keeping masks on.

We want to thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and cooperation… we are almost there, and we will get through this working together.

It's Christmas Eve 2021 and all through the house...
Marvin and I would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support of our business as the world around us continues to be unpredictable. We are continuing to create in the Studio and shop while working with people to ensure they have the products they need to continue creating.

Well done everyone! We are finally starting to get the Covid-19 case numbers and vaccination numbers going in the right direction. The province is ready to cautiously enter Step 1 of the Roadmap to Reopening Plan tomorrow Friday June 11, 2021.

Here at Debbie's Studio, we have decided to stay as we are for right now. Things we took a look at were, that the Studio is attached to our home, and we have two essential workers living here. Also, our family is only partially vaccinated as we are blessed to live in a more rural community with lower case numbers, so we don't qualify for our second doses yet.

We look forward to the day when things can return to closer to normal, until then we will continue to help people get the hoops, hooks and frames etc. they want by using prepaid porch pick up or through shipping by Canada Post for a little bit longer.

Well here we are in April 2021, under a stay at home order...
Marvin and I are still working away in the Studio and shop. A huge thank-you to everyone who continues to support us and all the other small businesses.

Hello Friends
The Covid-19 Pandemic has definitely made for some interesting adventures and challenges for everyone over the last year. These different times may have been an adjustment, however, with each new day comes the opportunity to learn something new. Being connected doesn’t have to be face to face. Connecting with each other through our passions, experiences, and discoveries without borders is how old and new relationships are created. Even if most events will have a virtual spin for a while yet, vendors and crafters alike can still have the opportunity to enrich their creativity, while helping keep small business’ doors open for years to come.
Marvin has continued working in the shop making our hoops, frames, hooks etc while still working as a truck mechanic to help keep the trucks running. I have been out in the Studio making masks, along with other projects to keep my hands busy and in a small way help keep friends and family safe. For the time being we have made the decision that we are keeping the Studio closed except for pre-booked appointments of one person only following all the health protocols (i.e. masking, sanitizing, distancing and tracing) in place. Shipping or porch pick up will continue as options.
We are truly blessed to have customers that love to create while continuing to support us and all the other small businesses as much as possible.

As we head into the final stretch of 2020, I would like to apologize for not posting more. I would tell myself that I really should tidy the Studio to take an updated picture and post an update but: there were masks to make, gifts to create, and crochet orders to complete.

The tidy up has not happened yet, so the one picture is what the Studio looked like when I was getting started this morning, and the other is a quick peek at our son, Jefferey who has set up a space to Diamond Paint in the Studio.

We are truly blessed to have a creative space with lots of activities to keep us busy/content, while we follow public health guidance to do our part to keep people safe during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

2021 will see the Studio continue to be open by appointment only and we will continue to ship by Canada Post. So if you need a hoop, gripper frame, hook etc for your upcoming projects please get in touch and we will be happy to help you stay creative.

Well it has certainly been a 'different' couple of months here at the Studio...
We have been keeping busy with projects in the shop and the Studio, which has become mask making central while we figure out what our 'new normal' will be going forward.

Thank you to everyone who continued to order products for us to ship and to all the people who have reached out to check on us.

After carefully looking at our business, family/work situations and to continue to protect ourselves as well as our customers, we have decided that we are going to continue to keep the Studio closed while continuing to ship or arrange prepaid pickup with the exception of pre-booked appointments.

***Please contact us by phone or email to set up at date and time.***

During the appointments only 1 person will be allowed into the Studio. Masks will be required, hand sanitizer must be used on entering and gloves will not be allowed.

We request that you come in carrying as little as possible and refrain from over handling the products. Wool and wood are not easily sanitized. The washroom will not be available, so please plan accordingly.

COVID 19 Update
After much thought, consultation and thinking of our social responsibilities to the overall community Marvin and I have decided to suspend regular Studio Hours until further notice.
Our products are still available for shipping or prepaid at the door pickup. Please contact us by email or phone for further details.
This is an uncertain and stressful time for everyone and financially terrifying time for small businesses so please encourage all your friends and family to support all your local small businesses by continuing to purchase online or prepaid at the door pickup as available.
We are stronger when we all work together.

Wow we are almost 2 full months into 2020. We have been kind of quiet online, but trust me all is well here at the Studio. As you can see there are 'ideas' and projects everywhere!
We are preparing for Piecemakers Quilt Show April 23 to 25th at Pyramid Recreation Centre in St Marys and we are looking forward to the Woodstock Fleece Festival in October.
