Mitigating Infrastructure Vulnerability to Wind-Driven Fires. For utility companies and railroad operators, wind-driven fires present a complex risk management challenge. 🔥 WILDFIRES DON’T HAVE TO BE AT OUR DOORSTEP TO IMPACT NORTHERN B.C.
While Northern British Columbia may not currently be facing the same level of wildfire activity as parts of Southern B.C., that doesn’t mean we’re untouched by the effects.
Our world is connected like never before. Cell towers, fibre-optic lines, power transmission, substations, data networks and communications infrastructure hundreds of kilometres away can directly affect the services we depend on here in the North.
A wildfire doesn’t have to reach Prince George to create an outage in Prince George.
📡 Cell & communications
🌐 Internet & fibre networks
⚡ Power infrastructure
🏢 Businesses & industry
🚨 Emergency communications
🏠 Communities and essential services
That’s why wildfire protection needs to evolve from simply responding to fires to protecting the infrastructure we cannot afford to lose.
Through CitroTech wildfire prevention technology, D&D Contracting is looking at scalable protection solutions ranging from mobile spray trucks and preventative treatment programs to private wildland fire crews, drones and aerial application/monitoring capabilities.
The goal is simple: identify high-risk infrastructure, create added protection before wildfire arrives, and help keep critical systems operational when surrounding areas are under threat.
Northern B.C. may be hundreds of kilometres from the fire—but we are only one connection away from its impact.
🔥 Choose proactive. Choose protection.
📡 Keep B.C. connected.
💚 BC Strong.
