Meet our , Karsten Schloesser 👋

Based in Parry Sound, Ontario, Karsten is a Sales & Business Development Manager focused on North America. In his four years with Almex, he has built customer relationships by listening, understanding challenges, and helping find the right solutions.

Through visits to Almex branches, belting operations, and mining sites around the world, Karsten has deepened his understanding of the industry—and the demanding work our customers do every day.

For Karsten, that work has a clear purpose: helping customers protect their employees so everyone can return safely to family and friends at the end of the day.

His favorite part of the job? Working through a new challenge with a customer and knowing he helped make their job a little easier.

Introducing Darrick Sawyer, Welder Operator Lead Hand and a valued member of our manufacturing team based in Parry Sound, ON.

With 18 years at Almex and 20 years in the industry, Darrick has built a reputation for craftsmanship, technical expertise, and a willingness to help others succeed. His experience plays an important role in ensuring our presses are built to the high standards our customers have come to expect.

As a lead hand, Darrick specializes in RAB welding and training team members on how to build presses efficiently and correctly. His hands-on knowledge helps keep production moving while supporting the development of the next generation of skilled employees.

Beyond his technical expertise, Darrick is known for bringing a positive attitude to the shop floor. He believes a good sense of humour helps keep morale high and creates a stronger, more enjoyable team environment—something that's just as important as the work itself.

It's this combination of experience, leadership, craftsmanship, and commitment to his team that makes Darrick an AlmExpert.
