Last week, our team had the opportunity to attend the Missing Middle Summit 2026, an insightful event focused on tackling development challenges and exploring innovative solutions for creating more attainable and innovative communities.

It was great connecting with industry professionals, hearing diverse perspectives, and participating in conversations around the future of housing, planning, and development across Toronto and the rest of Ontario.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers, and other attendees for an engaging and inspiring event. We’re looking forward to continuing these important conversations and applying new ideas to our work moving forward.

We’re excited to welcome Harani Jeevathasan as our Planning Intern for her eight‑month co‑op the next two terms! 

Harani is currently enrolled in the Honours Planning Co‑op program at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Urban Design and Land Use Planning. She brings valuable experience from both private planning consulting and municipal planning roles.

With a strong interest in policy planning and urban development, we’re looking forward to the insights and energy Harani will bring to the team. Welcome, Harani!

We’re pleased to share that the Ontario Land Tribunal has ruled in favour of our client’s application in the Hamilton. 

The Subject Property is zoned TOC3 – Transit Oriented Corridor Multiple Residential and designated “Neighbourhoods” within the Urban Boundary and Built-Up Area under the Urban Hamilton Official Plan. 

The Tribunal approved relief from Section 5.7.1(a)(i) of the Zoning By-law to permit zero visitor parking spaces, where two were required, to facilitate a new three-storey multiple dwelling. 
Notably, our Principal, Alicia, was formally recognized and qualified by the Tribunal as an expert witness in land use planning — a testament to the strength and credibility of the planning evidence presented. 

This outcome reflects sound planning principles and aligns with the policy direction supporting intensification and transit-oriented development within Hamilton’s built-up area.
