Please be advised that when you open an Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) account to make your farm plan declarations for AgriInvest, your account setting for mail will default to “paperless”.

This means you will not receive a paper copy of your AgriInvest deposit notice; instead, an email notification will be sent to you, advising you to review new documents.

Note, AAFC has indicated that clients are unlikely to win an appeal if they miss their deposit deadline because they did not check their AAFC online mail.

The Livestock Tax Deferral Provision allows for a portion of sales proceeds to be deferred to the following year, where producers in prescribed regions sell breeding stock due to drought.

The prescribed regions for 2025 were announced last week.

Starting June 2025, the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) will provide individuals between the age of 18 and 64 who have been approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) a monthly benefit of up to $200.

AISH recipients have until September 5th to communicate with Alberta Supports as to the status of their CDB application, otherwise their AISH payments will automatically be reduced by the $200/month available under CDB.
