Established in the heart of Okanagan Wine Country, Sumac Ridge Estate Winery is located on Highway 97 just north of the charming lakeside town of Summerland, British Columbia. The winery has been dedicated to producing 100% British Columbia grown wines since its inception. Sumac Ridge is the oldest operating estate winery in British Columbia. At the Summerland winery site, Gewurztraminer, Pinot No

ir and Riesling grapes are grown on a vineyard sloping towards Lake Okanagan. Further south is Black Sage Vineyard, a 115-acre vineyard in Oliver (in the south Okanagan) where such noble red varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are grown. The winery augments its own supply of grapes from other respected vineyards throughout the south Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys.

Cheers to the memories we've made and the ones we'll make in the future! 🍷💕

We are saddened to announce the closure of Sumac Ridge Winery. Our legacy will live on as Sumac Ridge, Steller’s Jay and Black Sage wines will continue to be sold at liquor stores across Western Canada and online through the Great Estates Okanagan website (link in bio).

Since opening our doors in 1980, we have been an important hub for the BC wine industry, with a legacy that includes many industry firsts. Here are a few of our favourite accomplishments from over the last 4 decades.

We were:
🍷 BC's first estate winery
🍷 The first to develop a commercially successful Okanagan sparkling wine
🍷 Canada's first winery to begin using Meritage on our Bordeaux blends
🍷 Okanagan's first winery to release a $50 bottle of wine

We extend our gratitude to the hundreds of industry professionals, visitors, customers, and employees who have made Sumac Ridge so iconic for the last 42 years.
