Light Up the Vines is almost here, and we’re thrilled to be part of the glow once again. We’re decking the tasting room and look forward to welcoming you for this magical Summerland tradition.

As we continue to press off our 2025 Pinot Noir, barrel work becomes a big part of these busy days. Brand new French Oak gets hydrated overnight before filling for the first time and nothing quite compares to the intensity of aromas during that first fill!

Neutral and previously used barrels get carefully steam sanitized before getting filled once again.

The barrels used are carefully selected to suit the profile of each different Pinot clone and will be the home of our Pinot Noir for the next 14 months, before deciding on the final blend. We’re excited to follow the evolution of this wine as the tannins soften and flavours integrate. This has been such a special vintage and there is so much potential here!

Meet Assistant Winemaker Teresa Ortiz-Fuentealba. Since 2023, she’s played a key role ensuring our high standards for wine quality, among many other things. We’re lucky to have her as part of the Solvero team!

Born and raised in Chile, Tere initially followed the path of Graphic Design. After working several years in the field of Marketing and Communications she developed an interest in the Wine world, deciding to finally shift her career in 2015. When in New Zealand, she got an opportunity to work as Assistant Vineyard Manager in the Wairau Valley, where she acquired the foundational skills and knowledge for the role.

After gathering more experience in other iconic wine regions like Oregon and Chile, along with workshops and training programs in the winemaking field, she finally arrived in the Okanagan in 2017. Here she has found a home where her global journey comes full circle. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia, she continues her exploration of winemaking, embracing the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the Okanagan terroir, adding another layer to her experience.

Tere’s winemaking journey is marked by adaptability and a deep commitment to the craft. Each stage of her journey reflects not only the regions she’s worked in but also the diverse expressions of wine that she has helped create.

Thanks to for a great day bottling our new vintage of Chardonnay. A highly anticipated release after the 2022 was named the best white wine in Canada this year! Available to our Wine Club members first this fall, you’ll want to get your hands on some of this. Stay tuned for more on the story of this wine. Our winemaker can’t wait to share.

Thanks to all who joined for our very first evening of yoga, vine & wine. A beautiful flow led by the amazing .newbigging and an opportunity to connect with old friends and new. We hope it is the first of many nights like this in the perfect serenity of Garnet Valley!

We’re very excited to share that our 2022 Chardonnay has been awarded a Double Gold Medal and recognized as White Wine of the Year at the recent All Canadian Wine Championships 2025. We’re really proud of this vintage - it’s a true reflection of our Garnet Valley vineyards and unique Summerland terroir. We are looking forward to see what future vintages bring!
