This week's show comes to you from the deck at the , where we speak with General Manager Lisa Jaager about why you should consider staying a few nights in Summerland. With numerous fruit stands, wineries, and a stunning waterfront, Summerland is an emerging gem in the Okanagan Valley. Christine Coletta, co-owner of Okanagan Crush Pad, stops by our poolside location to talk about the wines of Haywire Winery and Garnet Valley Ranch Winery, both located in the heart of Summerland. Mason Spink, Winemaker at Laundry, tells us that the future has never been brighter for the region and the winery. Ron Kubek, Owner of Lightning Rock Winery, never short on a strong opinion, gives us an owner’s perspective on the challenges of shipping wine across the country, as well as a positive forecast for the 2026 growing season. Savannah Swaisland, owner of , knows wine, and you’ll find that out in her discussion with Anthony about the South Okanagan wineries to visit, with the Okanagan’s only Hop-on Hop-Off transportation service, offering a convenient and affordable way to explore Penticton and the Naramata Bench.

Dear Friend of Garnet Valley,

The GVATA is celebrating our legal victory. With the generous help of our Summerland community, and others in the Okanagan, we succeeded in getting the Garnet Valley Gravel Pit permit rescinded.

On Sunday April 26th, 1:00 to 5:00, at Garnet Valley Ranch, we are marking this victory with a celebratory get-together for all friends and supporters.

Even with the generosity of all our supporters, we are still a few dollars short of our final legal bills, so the net proceeds from this event should put us over the top.

A hot dog and a glass of Summerland's best (courtesy of Solvero Wines or Haywire Winery) is on the menu, plus a chance to experience the great outdoors as Spring sunshine brings Garnet Valley alive.

Sit around the campfire, or go for a stroll. Everyone welcome.

Hope to see you there!

If January has you dreaming of summer, you’re not alone.

When the warmer months return, we’d love to welcome you to our winery in beautiful Summerland. A visit is a chance to slow down, explore the landscape, and learn more about how this place shapes the wines we make.

Summerland is a unique corner of the Okanagan Valley, influenced by Lake Okanagan, elevation, and long daylight hours. These conditions create a cooler growing environment that supports freshness, balance, and expressive fruit. The combination of lake moderation and diverse soils allows vineyards here to ripen gradually, helping preserve natural acidity and a strong sense of place.

It’s a region well suited to thoughtful, low-intervention winemaking and one that continues to inspire how we work in the vineyard and cellar.

When summer arrives, come spend some time with us and experience Summerland for yourself.
