Ocean 100's annual Stuff a Bus Food Drive is making a stop in Summerside on Tuesday, September 1 at Vogue Optical.

From 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, stop by with a donation of non-perishable food items or cash to help support local food banks and Island families heading into the back-to-school season.

Every donation helps fill the bus and support neighbours in our community 💙

New parents! This one’s for you 💛

Family Service PEI is launching From Partners to Parents in Summerside, with its first sessions happening Monday, August 17 and Monday, August 24.

Becoming parents can bring a lot of change, including changes to your relationship. Based on the Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home program, this research-based workshop is designed to help couples stay connected, communicate more effectively and build a strong co-parenting partnership.

Couples will explore practical tools to help with:

👶 Navigating the transition into parenthood
💛 Maintaining friendship, intimacy and connection
💬 Improving communication and working through conflict
🤝 Building strong co-parenting strategies
🍼 Understanding your baby’s emotional and developmental needs
🏡 Creating a strong foundation for your growing family

The program is open to couples who are expecting or parenting a child under three, including families growing through adoption or fostering.

There’s no group therapy or group sharing. Couples learn together and have private time to work through activities and practise new skills in a comfortable, confidential setting.

SO, what is Grow 2.0 all about? 👀

Grow 2.0 is about much more than a financial investment.

It’s about uncovering the root cause of the challenges Downtown is actually facing, understanding why they exist, and developing practical, achievable strategies to address them.

🔍 Identifying root causes
🏙️ Learning from other downtowns that have successfully overcome similar challenges

Rather than relying on quick fixes, Grow 2.0 is about creating focused plans that can lead to meaningful, long-term change.

The goal? A stronger, more vibrant Downtown Summerside that continues to grow as a great place to live, work and play.

A fresh new look for 278 Water Street! 👏✨

With support from the Downtown Summerside Facade Grant, Arsenault Properties recently completed several exterior improvements to the home of Hoss Fish n’ Chips, including:

🎨 A fresh coat of paint
🚪 New glass entrance doors
✨ A brand-new, eye-catching Hoss Fish n’ Chips sign!

These improvements have given the property a clean, welcoming new look and helped refresh this section of Water Street.

It’s great to see the Downtown Summerside Facade Grant helping local property owners improve and refresh downtown buildings.
