Now in its fourth year, the PEI Asian Heritage Month celebrations continue to grow, bringing people together through shared experiences, cultural performances, and community connection.

We are getting ready for our third annual The PEI Play Again Christmas Market and will once again be hosting a Spring Toy Drive!
On May 30th, we will have TWO drop-off locations for your gently used/new items for the market

👉9 AM - 11 AM in Summerside (190 Greenwood Drive, Summerside)
👉1 PM - 3 PM in Charlottetown (28 Thomson Drive, Charlottetown, Unit 42)
What kind of items are we looking for?
We are seeking gently used or new items for children ages 0-15.
Here’s a list of what we’re hoping to receive (to name a few!) ✨Baby items
✨CLEAN and in-good-condition winter gear
✨Children’s toys
✨Books
✨NEW makeup or hair styling tools (for older kids/teens) ✨Items that pre-teens and teens would love (such as accessories, gadgets, or clothing)

What a day for Downtown Summerside 💙

Another very big THANK YOU to everyone who came out for our Community Cleanup Day and to all the incredible businesses, organizations, and community partners who helped make Open City such a success this year.

Because of your time, energy, and community spirit, we were able to make a real impact across downtown:

⛵️ The Spinnaker’s Landing boat received a fresh new coat of paint
🌳 The tree boxes by the Police Station were refreshed with new paint
🧹 Downtown streets and surrounding areas were cleared of litter - with an entire city truck load of garbage collected
🌱 Water Street plants received fresh new mulch and care
🤩 Our downtown businesses saw some new friendly faces

From volunteers picking up litter, to businesses opening their doors and creating welcoming experiences throughout Open City, this weekend was such a great reminder of what makes Downtown Summerside special - people who care deeply about their community.
