Today, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honour the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to live with their lasting impact.

This is a day to pause.

To listen to the truths that have been shared.

To learn about the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools.

And to consider what reconciliation asks of each of us, today and in the days that follow.

Wearing orange can show support, but meaningful reconciliation also requires continued learning, honest reflection, and action.
