NO LMIA? YOU COULD STILL GET UP TO 100 EXPRESS ENTRY POINTS! 🇨🇦

Canada is introducing major Express Entry changes on November 3, 2026!

Under the new system, an LMIA will no longer be required for a qualifying job offer to receive CRS points.

Here's what you need to know:

✅ Qualifying high-wage job offers may receive 50, 70 or 100 CRS points.
✅ Eligible offers can be for an existing or new position, including with a new employer.
✅ The job offer must be genuine and meet Express Entry requirements.
✅ Generally, the offer must be for full-time, continuous work for at least one year after becoming a permanent resident.

⚠️ IMPORTANT!
An LMIA exemption for Express Entry job offer points does NOT automatically mean you can obtain a Canadian work permit without an LMIA.

DO YOU NEED TO EARN $100,000 TO GET EXTRA EXPRESS ENTRY POINTS?
Not necessarily! 🇨🇦

Canada's new Express Entry system considers the national median wage of your OCCUPATION, not simply your individual salary.

Let's explain with this example:

IF the overall median wage benchmark were $60,000 per year:
🔹 1.3× = $78,000
🔹 1.5× = $90,000
🔹 2× = $120,000

⚠️ These amounts are HYPOTHETICAL examples, NOT official IRCC salary thresholds.

Under the new system:

✅ Qualifying high-wage job offers may receive 50, 70 or 100 CRS points.
✅ At least 12 months of qualifying Canadian high-wage work experience may provide an additional 20, 40 or 70 CRS points.
✅ Your NOC classification determines the occupation's wage category.
✅ Your personal salary does not, by itself, determine which category applies.

This is why choosing and documenting the correct NOC is so important!

Canada is introducing major changes to Express Entry starting November 3, 2026!

Some occupations may now help applicants qualify for additional CRS points through eligible Canadian work experience or a qualifying job offer.

✅ 1.3× CATEGORY
Accountants, financial analysts, accommodation service managers and industrial electricians.

✅ 1.5× CATEGORY
Registered nurses, elementary and secondary school teachers, software engineers and construction managers.

✅ 2× CATEGORY
Family physicians, nurse practitioners, university professors and financial managers.

⚠️ IMPORTANT!
Not every occupation in the same industry qualifies.

Your actual job duties and correct NOC classification matter. Having an occupation on the list alone does NOT guarantee extra points or an invitation to apply.
